GITB’17 – report back Great Indian Travel Bazaar/ Glam Girls was there

GlamGirlsLuxTravels was invited to the Great Indian Travel Bazaar’17 – held in Jaipur.. what an honour it was for me to attend this very prestigious event. I met with over 40 suppliers, hoteliers, Palace Owners and Hotel chains.. from the magnificent Narain Niwas, to the Taj, to the Relais & Chateaux, to the Leela, then there was the Aman group.. the Amangagh.. and more! Gosh, I’ve got so much inspiration and new ideas up my sleeve.. watch this space ladies!

The Magnificent Taj Jai Mahal Palace was my accommodation for three glorious nights.. what a very special treat this was.. thank you GITB’17 organizers..

Built in 1745, the Jai Mahal Palace is a stunning piece of Rajasthan’s heritage, a great example of Indo-Saracenic architecture set amidst 18 acres of landscaped Mughal gardens. Jai Mahal Palace has been the residence of three Prime Ministers of the princely state of Jaipur. Painstakingly restored and recently refurbished, it is now a luxury five-star Taj heritage hotel equipped with all modern-day comforts. The 94 rooms and six suites offer you unbeatable views of the city and palace gardens.

Perfectly located downtown in the heart of the Pink City in Civil Lines, you are close to the main shopping areas and prime historical sites such as Amber Fort, HawaMahal and City Palace. The Jaipur International Airport is a mere 30 minutes away.

While the palace hotel gives you a taste of the best of Rajasthani heritage and culture, you also savour the best flavours in the city at our two specialty restaurants. Cinnamon serves the most authentic Royal Indian cuisines from four princely states, while Giardino is Jaipur’s finest and only contemporary al fresco Italian restaurant. Both please the palate of true food and wine connoisseurs from the world over. Our popular all-day-dining multi-cuisine restaurant Marble Arch offers a medley of flavours; and the fashionable and trendy Marigold Bar houses a selection of single malts and cigars alongside innovative cocktails.

Nestled within the luxurious ambience of the palace are several signature experiences aimed at pampering you. Enjoy Bajot Private Dining, a truly regal and romantic dinner. Unwind with rejuvenating treatments and therapies at our spa, or centre mind and body with yoga and meditation.

Explore the palace history and its landscaped gardens to host fairy tale wedding celebrations for up to 2,500 guests at the Palace Lawns. Entertain business clients and hold important meetings at the palace boardrooms, Silver Oak and Sterling, and banquet hall, Hendley’s. Our concierge would be happy to arrange a city tour for your group, and all else your heart desires.

Come, live like royalty at this heritage hotel. – Totally recommend this hotel, personally!

I was invited to dinners.. @Diggi Palace – Situated in the heart of the Pink City of Jaipur, an oasis in the barren landscape of Rajasthan, HOTEL DIGGI PALACE is a poem written in stone more than a 150 years ago.

The resplendent DIGGI PALACE was built by Shri Thakur Saheb Pratap Singh ji Diggi of the then ruling family of Diggi principality in 1860. Situated in the heart of the city on 18 acres of land amidst an array of fresco painted ‘deodis’ (doorways), ‘durbars’ (banquet halls), ‘havelis’ (palace wings) and lush green gardens; the DIGGI PALACE is a tranquil haven offering luxury and hospitality that is pure and unpretentious

I was also invited to the glorious Oberoi Raj Vilas for a beautiful evening of amazing dinner, and entertainment.

The Oberoi Rajvilas is unique amongst hotels in Jaipur; a royal resort set in a breathtaking thirty two acre oasis of beautiful landscaped gardens, filled with beautiful trees and exotic birdlife. Built around an 18th century Shiva temple where guests can experience chanting with a Hindu priest, meditation and morning yoga, The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur is a haven of mystical peace and natural serenity.

We then left for Jaisalmer – stopping enroute at Bikaner – but first.. checked into the amazing Narendra Bhawan Bikaner.

Narendra Bhawan, in its new avatar, retells the story of the last reigning Maharaja of Bikaner, His Highness Narendra Singhji. Unconventionally curated, it is composed of Narendra Singhji’s memories from his travels to destinations near and far.

A robustly urban space, the Hotel looks inwards, drawing your attention to the uniquely created spaces. Avant garde in its curation, the convivial areas and dining spaces are intended to delight and stimulate our guests with a sentiment that is immediately familiar yet dissipating into the past.

The Gaushala and Verandah are outdoor spaces serving specially designed small eats and drinks. The Mad Hatter Bake house and P&C serve up nostalgia along with elegant meals. Upstairs, what is perhaps Bikaner’s best rooftop terrace offers amazing views of the city: that is, if guests can take their eyes off the inviting azure infinity pool that runs along its edge. Our sui generis Clinic Spa is an entirely novel concept based on the holistic and gently persuasive power of flowers and plants to gently help instill harmony and bring balance to all aspects of our being.

Believe me.. its is AMAZING! every nook and crannie offers a photo opportunity.. there’s a feel almost of Casablanca.. of Art Deco, of a period when living was fun – Totally recommend you visiting Bikaner, because of this hotel!

We went onto discover Jaisalmer “The Golden city”, is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, located 575 kilometres (357 mi) west of the state capital Jaipur . Once known as Jaisalmer State it is a World Heritage Site. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples are finely sculptured. It lies in the heart of the Thar Desert (the Great Indian Desert) and has a population of about 78,000.

We also had dinner at the amazing Suryagarh, Jaisalmer is your gateway to the Thar Desert.

We believe we are not just a hotel, but represent a unique way of life, carefully preserving the traditions of our past yet framing them in a modern idiom.

The hotel takes the path less travelled and discovers with you, secrets of a land that have been long shrouded in myth and legend. With great consideration to your comfort, our particular brand of hospitality is intuitive and genuine.

Your wellbeing is at the centre of all we do. In this ancient and mysterious land we offer every modern comfort.

Live the Thar with us.

Oh my!!! images cannot describe it.. you’ll have to join one of my tours in the future and discover it yourself!
